Fire at Retirement Home in Amman Kills Six, Injures 60

A devastating fire at a retirement home in Jordan’s capital, Amman, resulted in the deaths of six people and left 60 others injured, with five in serious condition. The fire broke out early on Friday on the first floor of the White Beds Society (Al-Asirra Al-Baydaa) retirement center, which houses 111 residents.

Social Development Minister Wafa Bani Mustafa reported that the fire spread across an area of 80 square meters (860 square feet) in the facility. While the blaze caused severe harm to six elderly individuals, 55 others sustained moderate injuries. Fortunately, all those who were evacuated are safe.

An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire.
