Stanley Ajemba, popularly known as Stanley Ontop, has been released from police detention in Delta State.
The filmmaker was arrested on Tuesday and held at the Delta State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Asaba following a defamation petition filed against him by Nollywood actress Queeneth Hilbeth.
His detention drew widespread criticism on social media, with fellow celebrities and fans calling for his immediate release. Stanley spent one night in custody and was released on Wednesday evening.
Sharing the news on Instagram, Stanley jubilantly said, “We are out, we’re out, we’re out! The struggle continues, no leave no transfer. Aluta continua. Thanks to my team and family. The love was massive meenh.”
The filmmaker’s release comes amid ongoing discussions in the industry about freedom of expression, professional rivalries, and the handling of defamation claims.
