The Super Eagles of Nigeria have dropped one place in the latest FIFA men’s world rankings released on Thursday, now sitting at 44th globally.
According to the updated standings published by the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA), Nigeria also fell to fifth position in Africa, trailing Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, and Algeria.
The slight drop comes despite the Super Eagles playing out a 1-1 draw against Russia during an international friendly held at the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow in the period under review.
Argentina, the reigning world champions, maintained their position at the top of the global rankings, further consolidating their dominance in world football.
Nigeria’s current ranking reflects the need for improved consistency and stronger performances as they prepare for upcoming competitive fixtures on the international stage.
