Federal High Court Chief Judge Redeploys Five Judges in Strategic Shake-Up

In a move aimed at bolstering judicial efficiency across Nigeria, the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Justice John Tsoho, has ordered the immediate redeployment of five judges to new divisions of the court.

The announcement was made via an official statement signed by Catherine Christopher, Director of Information at the Federal High Court of Nigeria.

🏛️ The Newly Redeployed Judges and Their Postings: Justice M. Umar – From Enugu Division to Abuja, Justice Tijjani Ringim – From Gombe to Yola, Justice M. Segun-Bello – From Abakaliki to Enugu, Justice Bala Usman – From Yola to Awka, Justice Amina Mohammed – From Awka to Gombe.

The redeployments are to take effect immediately, with a directive that all affected judges make concerted efforts to conclude pending judgments in their current jurisdictions as swiftly as possible.

Until further notice, judges who are currently stationed in the Abakaliki and Katsina Judicial Divisions will take on full responsibility for all cases—both existing and newly filed—in their respective districts.

Additionally, all matters previously assigned to Court No. 5 in the Abuja Division will now be managed by the incoming judge posted to Abuja. The court emphasized that litigants and counsel need not file any fresh applications for the reassignment of these cases, as the transition will be handled administratively.

This strategic reshuffling is expected to enhance the balance of judicial workload, streamline case handling, and uphold the commitment to timely justice delivery across the Federal High Court system.
