Eid al-Adha: A Time for Reflection, Sacrifice, and Leadership – Peter Obi
Labour Party presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi, has extended his Eid al-Adha, greetings to Muslims across Nigeria, describing the festival as a time of deep reflection, sacrifice, and selfless leadership.
In a statement released on Friday, June 6, 2025, the former Anambra State governor emphasized the spiritual significance of Eid al-Adha, noting that it symbolizes faith, obedience to God, and compassion.
“This solemn festivity reminds us of the enduring power of faith, obedience, and selflessness,” Obi stated.
He urged leaders at all levels to use the occasion to embrace the noble values of leadership—sacrifice, accountability, humility, and service—which are essential to building a just and inclusive nation.
“May it especially be an opportunity for our leaders at all levels to reflect on the noble virtues of leadership… and apply them becomingly in the discharge of public duty,” he said.
Peter Obi also called on Nigerians to unite in compassion and justice, especially in caring for the vulnerable.
“May this season renew our collective hope, strengthen our unity, and inspire us all to work toward a better, more inclusive Nigeria. Eid Mubarak!”
