Edo State Holds Inaugural Joint Meeting for Smooth Government Transition

Edo State Commissioner for Communication and Orientation, Chris Nehikhare, has announced that the inaugural joint meeting of the transition committees for the state government and governor-elect Monday Okpebholo will take place today.

Scheduled for October 18 at 10 AM at the John Odigie-Oyegun Public Service Academy (JOOPSA), the primary goal of the meeting is to facilitate a seamless handover of government.

Nehikhare confirmed that the names of the All Progressives Congress (APC) transition committee members have been received and expressed optimism about the collaboration needed for an effective transition. “This is the first time Edo State is experiencing a transition from one party to another, and we must establish protocols to ensure everything is executed properly,” he stated.

Both transition committees consist of 24 members each, with the state government’s committee led by Secretary to the State Government, Joseph Eboigbe, and the APC’s committee chaired by former deputy governor, Pius Odubu.
