Eberechi Eze Keen on Tottenham Move as Spurs Step Up Pursuit Amid Injury Crisis

England international and Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze is reportedly pushing for a move to Tottenham Hotspur, motivated by the opportunity to play Champions League football following Spurs’ recent Europa League success.
According to updates from transfer insider Fabrizio Romano on Tuesday, Eze has made his desire known to Palace, signalling his readiness to join Spurs. While personal interest is clear, the final outcome now depends on successful negotiations between the two clubs. Romano added that Tottenham are “seriously working on” securing the midfielder’s signature.
Multiple reports, including those from Sky Sports, confirm that Spurs have revived their long-standing interest in Eze, with talks underway. Injuries to key players—most notably James Maddison (ACL rupture) and Dejan Kulusevski (knee surgery)—have left newly appointed manager Thomas Frank in urgent need of creative reinforcements in attack.
Eze, who had an outstanding 2024–25 campaign with 14 goals and 11 assists across 43 appearances, has emerged as a top transfer priority for Tottenham. However, negotiations could prove complex. His £68 million release clause expired on August 8, meaning Tottenham must now negotiate directly with Palace. The London club is expected to demand a package worth around £60 million plus performance-related add-ons.
While Spurs are currently leading the race, Arsenal remain interested. Eze, who was once released by the Gunners at age 13, previously referred to playing for the club as a “dream.” However, Arsenal’s pursuit is reportedly hindered by financial constraints, with any move for Eze likely contingent on offloading players like Leandro Trossard.
For now, Spurs appear to have the upper hand as they look to finalise a deal for one of the Premier League’s most dynamic midfielders.
