Drake Becomes the Artist with the Most RIAA Diamond Certifications

Drake has made history once again, becoming the artist with the most RIAA-certified Diamond records — a milestone that cements his status as one of the most commercially successful musicians of all time.

The Toronto superstar added two more Diamond plaques to his growing collection as “Hold On, We’re Going Home” and “Best I Ever Had” each surpassed 10 million units sold in the United States. These certifications bring his total number of Diamond singles to 13, more than any other artist in RIAA history.

Drake’s impressive list of Diamond-certified tracks also includes:

  • “God’s Plan”

  • “One Dance” (with Wizkid and Kyla)

  • “Hotline Bling”

  • “SICKO MODE” (with Travis Scott)

  • “Life Is Good” (with Future)

  • “Work” (with Rihanna)

  • “Love Me” (with Lil Wayne and Future)

  • “No Guidance” (with Chris Brown)

This achievement follows another historic milestone: Drake recently became the first artist ever to reach 500 million RIAA certification units, further solidifying his dominance in the U.S. music market.

Drake’s success extends beyond sales. He recently broke the record for most cumulative weeks on the Billboard 200, surpassing a long-standing record held by The Beatles. He also earned his 14th No. 1 hit as a soloist, thanks to his collaborative project with PartyNextDoor, “$ome $exy 4 U.” The album debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, tying him with Jay-Z and Taylor Swift for the second-most No. 1 albums in history — trailing only The Beatles, who hold the record with 19.

In terms of singles, Drake now ties with Michael Jackson for the most Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hits by a male solo artist, with 13 chart-toppers. On Spotify, he continues to dominate, holding the record for the most songs with over 1 billion streams, with 16 tracks reaching that benchmark.

The accolades keep coming. According to the IFPI, Drake was the highest-selling rapper of 2024 and the second best-selling global artist overall, trailing only Taylor Swift. It marks the 10th consecutive year he’s ranked in the IFPI’s global top 10, and the 10th time he’s been named the top-selling rapper in the world.

Even in the midst of a high-profile rap battle with Kendrick Lamar in 2024, Drake maintained his commercial stronghold. Eminem and Kendrick ranked No. 8 and No. 9, respectively, on the IFPI list — placing Drake firmly at the top among hip-hop artists.

With an already packed resume, 2025 is shaping up to be another landmark year for the Canadian icon.
