Diddy’s Lawyer Confirms Pardon Request to Trump Before Sentencing

Convicted music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs, scheduled for sentencing in October after being found guilty of prostitution-related offenses, is pursuing a pardon from former U.S. President Donald Trump, his lawyer confirmed.
“It’s my understanding that we’ve reached out and had conversations in reference to a pardon,” said Nicole Westmoreland, a member of Combs’ legal team, in an interview.
However, Trump has signaled that he is unlikely to grant such a request. Speaking in an interview with Newsmax on Friday, the former president said, “I was very friendly with him. I got along with him great, and he seemed like a nice guy. I didn’t know him well, but when I ran for office, he was very hostile.”
When asked directly if that meant he was not inclined to pardon Combs, Trump responded, “I would say so, yeah”.
Combs was found guilty in July by a New York jury on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. Each count carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison.
