Delta North APC Chairmen Disown Nwoko Endorsement, Reaffirm Support for Tinubu, Oborevwori

The Forum of All Progressives Congress (APC) Local Government Chairmen in Delta North has disassociated itself from the reported endorsement of Senator Ned Nwoko for a second term, describing the move as unauthorized and not representative of the party’s official position.

In a joint statement signed by seven local government chairmen — Nobert Akachukwu Sochukwudinma (Aniocha South), Hilary Fada Ibude (Ika South), Austin Nnabuife (Oshimili North), Dada Okolo (Oshimili South), Oputa Knis (Ndokwa East), Dike Onah (Ndokwa West), and Churchill Ugoena Edem (Ukwuani) — the forum made it clear that no formal endorsement of Senator Nwoko had taken place through proper party channels.

They reaffirmed their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election and pledged continued backing for Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori.

The chairmen urged party members and the general public to disregard any claims of Nwoko’s endorsement, clarifying that such assertions — whether made by ward chairmen or during the Delta North APC stakeholders’ meeting — did not have the approval of the local government party leadership.

“As a party committed to internal democracy,” the statement read, “anyone seeking elective office must contribute meaningfully to party-building efforts and prepare for transparent, credible primaries.”

Additionally, the forum called on Deputy Governor Monday Onyeme, the highest-ranking political figure from Delta North, to take a leadership role in unifying the APC in the region and steering it toward success in the 2027 general elections.

“APC Delta North remains focused, disciplined, and committed to achieving victory at the polls,” the statement concluded.
