The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, en route from Ahmedabad to London Gatwick, crashed shortly after takeoff on June 12, 2025, into a residential area near B.J. Medical College. The aircraft was carrying 242 people, including 230 passengers and 12 crew members.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the devastated neighborhood, describing the crash as “heartbreaking beyond words”.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, with authorities recovering the aircraft’s black box to aid in determining the exact cause of the incident.
