Nigerian singer and producer, Young Jonn, has revealed that his superstar colleague, Davido, often makes him feel financially “intimidated.”
The ‘Go Hard Or Go Home’ hitmaker made the candid remark during a sideline interview at the Paris Fashion Week in France. When asked if he had ever met someone who made him feel broke, Young Jonn didn’t hesitate to name Davido.
Interviewer: “Ever met someone that made you feel broke?”
Young Jonn: “Too many times, bro. Davido. Whenever I see his money, I’m like, I need to work hard and drop more songs.”
While acknowledging the financial gap, Young Jonn also praised Davido’s success as a source of motivation, saying it pushes him to strive harder in his music career.
In a 2024 interview, Young Jonn had previously shared that he never originally intended to become an artist, describing his transition from producer to singer as accidental.
Starting out as a producer under Olamide’s YBNL Nation, he crafted several hit tracks for artists like Lil Kesh, Olamide, and other YBNL signees before eventually stepping into the spotlight as a performing artist himself.
