Daddy Showkey Reveals How Pasuma Supported His Family for Three Years After 2007 Accident [VIDEO]

Veteran Nigerian musician, Daddy Showkey, has emotionally recounted how Fuji star Alabi Pasuma stepped in to support his family during one of the darkest periods of his life.

In a now-viral video from a recent celebrity event, Daddy Showkey shared the touching story while performing on stage—joined by Pasuma himself. The galala pioneer revealed that Pasuma was the only friend who stood by him after he suffered a life-threatening accident in 2007.

According to Daddy Showkey, the accident left him hospitalized for three years, during which he was unable to provide for his family. During that time, Pasuma took full responsibility for their welfare.

“You see this man—Pasuma—he’s not just a friend, he’s family,” Showkey said to loud applause from the audience. “When I had an accident in 2007, I was in the hospital for three years. Nobody came through for me except him. Pasuma fed my family for three years. I can never forget what he did for me.”

He went on to express his disappointment at how others in the industry turned their backs on him during his time of need.

“After I recovered, I went to visit some of my so-called friends, but they refused to see me. I would get to their homes, and their staff would say they weren’t around—even though they were right inside. But Pasuma never hid from me. He stood by me in my darkest hours.”

The heartfelt moment has resonated deeply with fans and fellow artists, serving as a reminder of the true meaning of friendship and loyalty in an industry often marked by fleeting relationships.
