Court Orders Businesswoman Aisha Achimugu to Honour EFCC Invitation

A Federal High Court has ordered prominent businesswoman Aisha Achimugu to comply with an invitation from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over allegations of financial misconduct.

The ruling followed the EFCC’s complaint that Achimugu had repeatedly failed to honor their invitations.

The EFCC had launched an investigation into certain financial transactions linked to Achimugu, prompting the agency to seek judicial intervention when she reportedly failed to appear for questioning.

The court warned that failure to comply could result in the issuance of a warrant for her arrest.

This development is part of broader efforts by the anti-graft agency to pursue financial crimes aggressively. Legal analysts say the court’s directive reaffirms the principle that no individual is above the law in matters of public accountability.
