Coalition: ADA Leaders Begin Mass Mobilisation Nationwide

The leaders behind the proposed Anti-Tinubu coalition known as the All Democratic Alliance (ADA) launched a nationwide mobilisation campaign after filing for official party registration with INEC.

High-profile figures such as former Vice‑President Atiku Abubakar, ex‑Governors Rotimi Amaechi and Nasir El‑Rufai, and League of Northern Democrats convener Dr Umar Ardo are spearheading consultations across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones

They aim to build broad support through town hall meetings, stakeholder roundtables, and grassroots training sessions .

ADA’s Pro-tem Chairman, Chief Akin A. Rickets, confirmed the application process is underway, with hopes INEC will recognise the party in time for the 2027 elections .

Still, former SGF Babachir Lawal warned that formation of a new party before 2027 may prove difficult, suggesting a coalition via merger with an existing party could be faster .

Critics question ADA’s sustainability, citing past examples where similar coalitions dissolved post-election. Political analyst Hakeem Baba‑Ahmed asserted, however, that this movement “is not a northern affair, but a pan‑Nigeria one aimed at generational shift”.

ADA leaders have pledged that the coalition will champion good governance, anti-corruption, and youth empowerment.

They’re urging Nigerians to support their push for political renewal—a response to growing disillusionment with current leadership.
