Christopher Nkunku Wants to Leave Chelsea Amid Limited Playing Time

Chelsea striker Christopher Nkunku has reportedly informed the club of his desire to leave Stamford Bridge, according to a report by GOAL. The French forward is said to be dissatisfied with his limited playing time at Chelsea.
Nkunku, who joined Chelsea in 2023, has struggled with injuries, including an initial knee issue followed by a hamstring injury, which sidelined him for an extended period. As a result, he has only appeared in 14 games across the Premier League, FA Cup, and Carabao Cup. In 2025, he has made 27 appearances, totaling just 910 minutes on the pitch. Despite this, he has managed to score five goals and provide three assists in nine UEFA Europa Conference League matches.
At his previous club, RB Leipzig (2019-2023), Nkunku was much more prolific, netting 70 goals and recording 55 assists in 172 appearances. However, his lack of regular minutes at Chelsea has been largely attributed to the competition from Cole Palmer.
The report also mentions that Bayern Munich expressed interest in Nkunku during the January transfer window. The Bavarians are looking for a backup for Harry Kane and are still considering Nkunku as a potential option. However, for Bayern to move forward with a deal, they would first need to sell Mathys Tel to Tottenham Hotspur for around €50 million, a transaction that could impact Nkunku’s chances of joining Bayern.
