China Warns Against Trade Deals Favoring U.S. Interests

China has issued a stern warning to other nations against entering trade agreements with the United States that could undermine Chinese interests. The Chinese Commerce Ministry accused Washington of using tariffs and sanctions to pressure countries into limiting trade with Beijing.
Beijing emphasized that it would enact reciprocal countermeasures if its economic interests are harmed. The warning comes amid escalating tensions in the ongoing Sino-U.S. trade war, with the U.S. imposing high tariffs on Chinese goods, prompting retaliatory duties from China.
The trade conflict has unsettled global financial markets and threatens economic stability, especially among Southeast Asian nations caught in the crossfire. China’s President Xi Jinping has made diplomatic overtures to strengthen regional ties and denounced U.S. unilateralism.
In response to U.S. curbs on technology and tariffs on global partners, China plans to bring its grievances to the United Nations, framing U.S. actions as obstructive to global peace and development.
