Burna Boy Extends Record as Most Certified Nigerian Artist in France

Grammy-winning global superstar Burna Boy has further solidified his dominance in France by earning another prestigious SNEP Gold certification—this time for his hit single “It’s Plenty”. The certification adds to his impressive tally, extending his record as the most certified Nigerian artist in French music history.
This latest accolade comes just weeks after “We Pray”, his collaboration with Coldplay, achieved SNEP Diamond status, highlighting Burna Boy’s soaring popularity in the European market. With 15 SNEP certifications to his name, his status as a leading force in global Afrobeats is unmistakable.
“It’s Plenty” was released as part of Burna Boy’s seventh studio album I Told Them and has found significant commercial success, particularly in France. The Afro-fusion icon recently made history by becoming the first African artist to sell out the 80,000-capacity Stade de France—a monumental feat that underscores his international appeal.
In 2024, Burna Boy also became the first artist to grace the cover of Billboard France Magazine, another milestone in his fast-growing legacy on the continent.
His certification haul in France includes Diamond plaques for smash hits “Last Last” and “On The Low”, Platinum records for “Gbona”, “YE”, and “City Boy”, and Gold certifications for “Alone”, “For My Hand” featuring Ed Sheeran, and “Anybody”. He also recently earned another Platinum certification with “Donne-Moi L’accord”, a collaboration with French artist Dadju.
Looking ahead to 2025, Burna Boy is preparing to release his highly anticipated eighth studio album No Sign of Weakness. In the buildup, he has already dropped five singles, including the Brazilian funk-infused “Tatata” featuring American rap superstar Travis Scott.
With four Grammy-nominated albums under his belt and the distinction of being the first Nigerian artist with three albums surpassing 500 million Spotify streams, Burna Boy shows no signs of slowing down. His next chapter promises even greater heights.
