Burna Boy Declares His Version of ‘Laho’ Is the Original

Burna Boy Claims His Version of ‘Laho’ Came First, Drops Remix with Shallipopi
Shallipopi’s viral hit ‘Laho’ just got a major boost with a remix featuring Burna Boy, and the Grammy winner has now added some backstory.
In a recent Instagram post, Burna Boy revealed that ‘Laho II’, released on April 25, 2025, was actually recorded beforeShallipopi’s original solo version, but couldn’t drop earlier due to clearance issues.
The remix arrives on the heels of the track’s commercial breakout, with ‘Laho’ fast becoming Afrobeats’ first major global hit of 2025. Burna Boy premiered the remix live in Paris during his record-setting Stade de France concert, and again in Manchester’s Co-op Arena, performing alongside Shallipopi.
Fresh off another international remix appearance on Joé Dwèt Filé’s ‘4 Kampé II’, Burna Boy’s star power is expected to propel ‘Laho II’ even further — possibly even landing the track on his highly anticipated eighth studio album, ‘No Sign of Weakness’.
