Broos Unveils Final 23-Man Squad as Bafana Bafana Gear Up for Nigeria, Lesotho World Cup Qualifiers

Head coach of South Africa’s Bafana Bafana, Hugo Broos, has announced his final 23-man squad ahead of the team’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying matches against Lesotho and Nigeria.
The Belgian tactician had earlier released a 48-man provisional list for the two fixtures last week but has now trimmed the squad by dropping 25 players to arrive at his final selection.
The team list features a strong representation of home-based talents, with only six players plying their trade abroad making the cut.
According to the fixture schedule, South Africa will face Lesotho away from home on Saturday, September 6, before returning to host the Super Eagles of Nigeria four days later at the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein.
Bafana Bafana currently sit at the top of Group C with 13 points from six matches, putting them in a commanding position as the qualifiers heat up.
