
Two Nigerian Air Force (NAF) pilots reportedly survived after an Alpha Jet crashed near Karabonde, a community in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State.
The incident was first reported on Saturday evening by Lapai TV, a Niger State–based digital television network, which posted a brief update and a short video on its official Facebook page.
The post read, “Two Nigerian Air Force Pilots Reportedly Survive Alpha Jet Crash Close to Karabonde, Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State”.
Eyewitnesses corroborated the report, telling PUNCH Online via WhatsApp voice notes and video clips that both pilots successfully ejected before the aircraft went down.
Viral footage also showed smoke rising from the crash site, prompting concerns among locals who were unsure of the cause of the incident.
As of the time of filing, the Nigerian Air Force had not released an official statement regarding the crash, the condition of the pilots, or details about the aircraft’s operations.
