Bayern Munich Close to Securing Nicolas Jackson’s Move; Arsenal’s Laila Harbert Heads to Portland Thorns on Loan

Bayern Munich have reportedly reached an agreement on personal terms with Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson as they work towards finalizing his transfer to Germany.

According to the German publication Bild, while the player’s personal terms have been settled, Bayern still need to come to terms with Chelsea to secure the Senegalese forward’s signature.

Due to restrictions placed on sporting directors Max Eberl and Christoph Freund, who are “not allowed” to purchase an attacking player this summer, Bayern are leaning towards a loan deal for Jackson.

It is expected that the loan agreement may include an option for Vincent Kompany’s side to make the transfer permanent next year.

In a separate announcement on Monday, Arsenal confirmed that young midfielder Laila Harbert has joined the National Women’s Soccer League’s Portland Thorns on loan until January 2026.

The 18-year-old, who has been part of Arsenal’s system since the age of nine, signed her first professional contract with the club in January 2025 after progressing through their academy ranks.

Harbert gained valuable experience during the latter half of the 2024/25 season on loan at Southampton and will now continue her development in the United States with Portland Thorns.
