Candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ukalikpe Napoleon and Loolo Bulabari Henrietta, have emerged victorious in the two state constituencies where the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) conducted by-elections.
Ukalikpe Napoleon won the Ahoada East State Constituency seat, while Loolo Bulabari Henrietta secured victory in Khana State Constituency II.
In Ahoada East, Returning Officer Rosemary Ogbo announced the result, confirming that the election was conducted in compliance with electoral regulations.
Ukalikpe Napoleon polled 3,980 votes to defeat his closest rival, Ego Marvelous of the Action Alliance (AA), who scored 33 votes. Other candidates trailed behind, including Godstime Egor of the Action Party of Nigeria (38 votes), Oseja Clifford of Boot Party (11 votes), Ephraim Raphael Ede of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (7 votes), Ogide Samson Greatman of the Young Progressives Party (7 votes), and Kwodu Saturday Prosper of the Zenith Labour Party (6 votes).
Ogbo declared Ukalikpe Napoleon duly elected after confirming that he satisfied all legal requirements and secured the highest number of valid votes cast.
For Khana State Constituency II, INEC similarly declared Loolo Bulabari Henrietta the winner after she polled a total of 7,647 votes, defeating candidates from the African Alliance, New Nigeria Peoples Party, Young Peoples Party and Zenith Labour Party.
The by-elections were conducted following the resignation of former Ahoada East Constituency lawmaker Edison Ehie and the death of former Khana State Constituency II representative Dinebari Loolo.
The elections were largely peaceful, though voter turnout was reportedly low in several polling areas, with minimal security presence observed at some locations during the exercise.
