APC Refutes Claims of Automatic Tickets for National Assembly Members
Party dismisses viral report as “fake news,” reaffirms commitment to internal democracy.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has firmly denied granting automatic re-election tickets to all serving members of the National Assembly under its platform.
Reacting to a viral news report that claimed the ruling party had endorsed all current lawmakers ahead of the next general elections, the APC labeled the information as entirely false.
In a statement released Tuesday and signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, the APC clarified that it had made no such decision. The statement was shared on X (formerly Twitter).
“Our attention has been drawn to a purported breaking news report with the headline ‘APC Grants Automatic Tickets to All National Assembly Members,’ currently circulating online. The report is FAKE NEWS and did not emanate from the party,” Morka stated.
The party urged members of the public, particularly its supporters and stakeholders, to disregard the claims, describing them as “mischievous” and aimed at sowing confusion within the party ranks.
“We urge all party members and the general public to ignore the report in its entirety. It is false, misleading, and of dubious origin,” the statement added.
The APC has reiterated its commitment to democratic principles, promising a fair and transparent process in the selection of candidates for the 2025 elections.
This latest clarification comes amid growing speculation over the party’s internal arrangements ahead of the next electoral cycle.
