Governors elected under the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) paid a visit to former President Muhammadu Buhari at his residence in Kaduna on Monday. The visit was led by the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodinma.
In a press statement, Uzodinma explained that the purpose of the visit was to extend warm Sallah greetings to Buhari and congratulate him on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast. He emphasized that the visit was symbolic and rooted in deep respect, loyalty, and continued appreciation for Buhari’s statesmanship, leadership, and legacy.
“As a party, we remain united and committed to the ideals of good governance which he championed during his tenure,” Uzodinma said.
The Imo State governor also added that the visit provided an opportunity for the governors to wish the former president well as he settles into his newly renovated Kaduna home.
Accompanying Governor Uzodinma were several other APC governors, including Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State. Other governors in attendance were those of Kaduna, Kwara, Nasarawa, Ebonyi, Kebbi, Edo, Kogi, Ondo, Ekiti, and Benue States. Additionally, the Deputy Governor of Jigawa State and the Minister of Budget and National Planning were present at the event.
The visit highlighted the strong bond of unity within the APC governors and their continued support for the former president.
