The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially commenced the sale of nomination and expression of interest forms ahead of the upcoming National Assembly by-elections scheduled to fill vacant legislative seats across the country.
The vacancies resulted from the death or resignation of former lawmakers, some of whom left their positions to assume executive appointments.
Speaking after obtaining his nomination form, Oscar Aghedo, an APC aspirant for Ovia Federal Constituency in Edo State, pledged to tackle youth restiveness by promoting agricultural empowerment and job creation if elected.
In Kaduna State, Yakubu Waziri, contesting the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency seat, emphasized security as his top agenda. He also dismissed speculation of a political alliance in the constituency, labeling such claims as baseless.
The APC revealed that the forthcoming bye-elections will span 12 states, covering two senatorial seats, five House of Representatives constituencies, and nine State Assembly positions.
The party says it is committed to presenting credible candidates who will consolidate on its legislative agenda and strengthen governance at both the national and state levels.
