American Actor and Martial Arts Icon Chuck Norris Dies at 86
Legendary American actor and martial artist Chuck Norris has died at the age of 86, following a recent hospitalization in Hawaii over what family sources described as an undisclosed medical complication.
According to reports, Norris passed away on Thursday, with his family confirming the news in a statement shared through his official Instagram account on Friday. Major international outlets including Reuters and Associated Press also reported the development, noting that he died peacefully while surrounded by loved ones.
In the emotional statement, the family described the late actor as more than a global action icon, remembering him first as the pillar of their home and family.
“It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the sudden passing of our beloved Chuck Norris yesterday morning. While we would like to keep the circumstances private, please know that he was surrounded by his family and was at peace.”
They added that although the world celebrated him as a symbol of strength, discipline, and resilience, to them he remained a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather, brother, and the heart of their family.
“He lived his life with faith, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to the people he loved. Through his work, discipline, and kindness, he inspired millions around the world and left a lasting impact on so many lives.”
Norris rose to international fame through blockbuster action films such as The Delta Force and Missing in Action, before becoming a household name through the hit television series Walker, Texas Ranger, where his tough, fearless screen persona earned him a devoted global following.
Beyond Hollywood, Norris was celebrated as a six-time undefeated world professional middleweight karate champion and founder of the martial arts system Chun Kuk Do, with a legacy that extended far beyond film into sports, mentorship, and youth development.
His family said they remain deeply grateful for the overwhelming support he received from fans around the world, noting that he always regarded them as more than admirers.
“To him, you were not just fans — you were his friends.”
They also expressed appreciation for prayers offered during his recent hospitalization and requested privacy as they mourn his passing.
Only days before his death, Norris had shared a birthday message celebrating turning 86, humorously telling fans, “I don’t age. I level up,” a post that has since drawn renewed attention as a final reflection of the energy and optimism that defined him.
His passing marks the end of an era for action cinema, leaving behind a legacy of discipline, strength, and enduring cultural influence across generations.
