Social media users have taken to the Instagram page of Big Brother Naija Season 6 alumnus, Sammie, demanding answers and refunds following allegations that he defrauded a man of ₦4.45 million under the guise of securing him a spot in the 2025 BBNaija show.
The accusations were made by Emmanuel Idakoh, also known as Young Barby, in a viral video posted by renowned videographer Lucky Udu. In the emotional footage, Emmanuel claimed that Sammie, whom he referred to as a “brother from Kogi State,” allegedly collected the large sum with promises of securing him a slot in the upcoming BBNaija season—a promise that never materialized.
“After my initial payment, Sammie requested another ₦1 million. He said he had already used his own money to push my name forward and insisted I repay him,” Emmanuel narrated. “At one point, he even advised me to take a loan, saying the returns from the show would outweigh whatever I was sacrificing now.”
The situation reportedly escalated when Emmanuel was asked to provide collateral—a move that led him to consider putting up his car. Despite Sammie’s reassurance that a refund would be issued if things didn’t go as planned, nothing has been returned, Emmanuel claimed.
“What hurts the most is not just the money,” he added, “but the betrayal. I was not scammed by a stranger, but by someone I trusted. I even had to sell my car to repay a ₦1.5 million loan I took on his advice.”
As of the time of reporting, Sammie has not issued any public statement addressing the allegations. Efforts to contact him for comment were unsuccessful, and messages sent by reporters remain unanswered.
In the meantime, outraged netizens have stormed Sammie’s Instagram, flooding his comment section with demands for accountability, transparency, and a refund for Emmanuel.
The controversy continues to gain traction online, with many calling on BBNaija organizers and relevant authorities to investigate the claims.
