Al-Ahli Deny Ronaldo as Al-Nassr Fall in Super Cup Shootout

Cristiano Ronaldo’s pursuit of a major title with Al-Nassr remains unfulfilled following their defeat to Al-Ahli in the Saudi Super Cup final on Saturday.
The closely contested encounter concluded 2-2 after regulation time, forcing a penalty shootout to decide the winner.
Ronaldo got Al-Nassr off to a strong start, converting a penalty early in the match — marking his 100th goal for the club.
However, Al-Ahli responded before the break, with Franck Kessie levelling the scoreline. Marcelo Brozovic reignited Al-Nassr’s hopes with a late goal, but Roger Ibañez found the net once again for Al-Ahli, taking the match to penalties.
In the shootout, Al-Ahli demonstrated greater composure under pressure. Goalkeeper Édouard Mendy made a pivotal save from Abdullah Al-Khaibari’s fourth attempt for Al-Nassr, swinging momentum in Al-Ahli’s favor. Wenderson Galeno stepped up to convert the decisive penalty, sealing Al-Ahli’s first Saudi Super Cup triumph since 2016.
