Aisha Achimugu Declares Hunger Strike After EFCC Arrest at Abuja Airport
Business executive returned from London to honour EFCC invitation before detention

Prominent businesswoman and socialite, Aisha Achimugu, has declared a hunger strike following her arrest by operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.
According to her legal counsel, Chikaosolu Ojukwu (SAN), Achimugu was apprehended around 5 a.m. on arrival from London, despite voluntarily returning to honour an EFCC invitation.
Achimugu was declared wanted by the EFCC in March over allegations of criminal conspiracy and money laundering. Her arrest comes a day after a Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice I.E. Ekwo, ordered her to present herself before the anti-graft agency on Tuesday and Wednesday.
In a statement, Ojukwu confirmed that his client is currently in EFCC custody and has commenced a hunger strike to protest the circumstances of her arrest.
