Actress Mo Bimpe Battles YouTube Impersonator Over Content Theft
The Nollywood star urges fans to help report a channel allegedly stealing her videos and identity.

Popular Nollywood actress and producer, Mobimpe Adedimeji, has voiced strong concerns over a YouTube channel she says is impersonating her and unlawfully replicating her creative work.
The channel in question, titled Mobimpewrite’s Stories, is allegedly copying her content, including videos, captions, and posters — often moments after she uploads her original materials on MOBIMPE TV, her verified platform.
In a lengthy statement on social media, the actress expressed frustration and emotional exhaustion over the situation, describing the imitation as more than just flattery.
“Someone created a YouTube channel just to copy everything I do — video for video, poster for poster,” she wrote. “This person waits for me to post and then uploads the same content, tricking people into thinking it’s me.”
Mo Bimpe recounted how the impersonator even plagiarized a heartfelt birthday post she wrote for her mother, mirroring both the caption and accompanying visuals. “That’s not inspiration. That’s disrespectful,” she added.
Despite repeated attempts to report the page, the channel remains active. The actress is now appealing to her followers and the public to help mass-report the impersonating account and bring it to YouTube’s attention.
“This is mentally exhausting. I have a team, and we’ve tried reporting, but it seems this person is determined to keep stealing my work, my sweat, my ideas,” she lamented.
Beyond public reporting, Mo Bimpe is exploring legal and technical avenues to address the copyright infringement. She also called on anyone with knowledge of how to take down fraudulent channels to reach out.
“I built MOBIMPE TV with passion and consistency. I won’t let someone hijack what I’ve poured my heart and soul into,” she affirmed.
This isn’t the first time the actress has faced impersonation issues. Earlier, she cautioned fans about a similar impersonation scam on TikTok.
Her latest outcry spotlights growing concerns over digital piracy and identity theft affecting creators across Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
