Access Holdings Strengthens Board with Appointment of Ibironke Adeyemi as Independent Director

Access Holdings Plc has announced the appointment of Ibironke Adeyemi as an Independent Non-Executive Director, following the resignation of Oluseyi Kumapayi, FCA, from the Board.

The company confirmed that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) approved Adeyemi’s appointment, which took effect on April 15, 2025. According to a statement from the firm, her inclusion reflects a strategic effort to broaden the board’s diversity and deepen its collective expertise across key sectors.

With over 30 years of experience spanning finance, education, and corporate governance, Adeyemi brings a strong blend of leadership and cross-sectoral knowledge to Access Holdings. Her career has included executive roles in both the private and non-profit sectors.

Currently, she serves as the Managing Director of Chrisland Schools Limited, part of the widely respected Chrisland Group, one of Nigeria’s foremost private education providers. She also sits on the boards of Chrisland University, the Victor and Winifred Awosika Foundation, and Holy Trinity Hospital, contributing to education, health, and philanthropy initiatives nationwide.

Her prior experience includes serving as Executive Director at Chemo-Pharma Laboratories, where she led financial and operational improvements, as well as an early career stint at Peat Marwick Ani & Ogunde (now KPMG Nigeria) as an audit trainee and chartered accountant.

Adeyemi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, a Postgraduate Diploma in Education, and a Master’s in Educational Administration and Planning, all from the University of Lagos. She has also completed executive training at prestigious institutions including Harvard Business School and the Lagos Business School.

She is a qualified chartered accountant with over three decades of professional membership and is actively involved in leadership circles through the Chartered Institute of Directors, Nigeria, and Rotary International.

Reacting to her appointment, Access Holdings Group Chairman, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, expressed confidence in the value she brings:

“I am pleased to welcome Ibironke Adeyemi to the Board of Access Holdings. Her appointment underscores our commitment to enhancing the diversity and depth of expertise within our Board. With her addition, we are proud to have four accomplished women among our nine-member Board, reinforcing our belief in the value of inclusive leadership.”

The announcement reflects Access Holdings’ ongoing commitment to inclusive governance and solidifies its stance as a progressive, gender-diverse financial institution at the forefront of corporate leadership in Nigeria.
