Abia Police Reactivates 24-Hour Radio Communications Office for Enhanced Security

The Commissioner of Police for Abia State, Danladi Isa, has announced the reactivation of the Command’s Radio Communications Office to operate 24 hours a day, starting in 2025. This initiative aims to improve the security response capabilities for Abia residents.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Maureen Chinaka, explained in a statement that the move was intended to ensure seamless communication across the state by extending the coverage area and replacing outdated systems with new, necessary equipment. This step will enhance the efficiency of managing directives and responding quickly to security emergencies.

Commissioner Isa emphasized the importance of the Communications Department in maintaining security throughout the state and urged officers to remain diligent, proactive, and duty-conscious. He also mandated that the control room must stay operational around the clock, with a technician available daily to address any technical issues swiftly.

Additionally, the commissioner warned against laxity and negligence, stating that any officers who fail to respond promptly to radioed directives would face disciplinary actions.
