Max Air Aircraft Suffers Tyre Burst at Kano Airport, Passengers Evacuated Safely

A Max Air flight carrying 53 passengers experienced a tyre burst late Tuesday night at the Mallam Aminu International Airport in Kano. The aircraft, registered as 5N-MBD, had landed at 22:57 PM after departing from Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos.

According to a passenger on board, the incident occurred as the plane touched down in Kano, with reports suggesting that the tyre burst may have involved the nose landing gear.

Despite the alarming situation, all passengers were safely evacuated from the aircraft without any injuries. The incident temporarily disrupted airport operations, prompting an inspection of the runway.

Although the airline has yet to issue an official statement, efforts to reach Max Air and the Nigeria Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB) for further details have been unsuccessful. Calls and text messages to officials from both the airline and the NSIB remained unanswered at the time of this report.

The incident adds to the ongoing scrutiny of safety measures at Nigerian airports, and investigations are expected to follow.
