Ayra Starr: I’d Leave My Partner If I Find Someone More Attractive
Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has shared her approach to handling romantic relationships, saying she would end an existing relationship if she developed stronger attraction to someone else.
The singer made the disclosure while responding to a relationship question on her “Ask Ayra Starr” show.
According to Ayra Starr, she would rather leave her current partner and pursue clarity about her feelings than remain committed to one person while seeing another.
She said maintaining relationships with two people at the same time would not be the right approach and suggested taking time away from both relationships to understand one’s emotions.
“If I’m in a serious relationship with a guy and then I find another guy more attractive, I would break up with him instead of dating both of them at the same time,” she said.
The “Rush” hitmaker added that she does not believe a person should try to maintain romantic relationships with two people simultaneously.
“I don’t think you can love two people. I think you need time to yourself so you can figure it out,” she added.
Ayra Starr advocates balance between love and friendship
In another response on the show, Ayra Starr advised people in relationships not to cut off their friends simply because they have found a romantic partner.
She stressed that romantic relationships should coexist with meaningful friendships rather than replace them.
The singer also warned against partners attempting to isolate each other from their friends.
“You should never abandon your friends because you are in love. Your partner should not isolate you from your friends because you are in a relationship,” she said.
Ayra Starr maintained that people should strive for a healthy balance between their romantic relationships and friendships.
