Super Eagles fall to 30th in latest FIFA ranking

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have slipped four places to 30th in the latest men’s world ranking released by the Federation of International Football Associations, FIFA, on Wednesday.

The national team had occupied 26th position in the previous ranking.

The drop also saw Éric Chelle’s team fall two places in the African standings, from fourth to sixth.

Nigeria now trails Morocco, Egypt, Senegal, Algeria and Côte d’Ivoire on the continent.

The Super Eagles played three matches during the period under review, securing one victory, one draw and one defeat.

They beat Madagascar 2-1 at home, suffered a 3-0 defeat to Guinea-Bissau and drew 3-3 with Russia in an entertaining international friendly on Tuesday.
