Ranchers Bees have been handed a combined N5 million fine by the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, for several violations during their Matchday 6 clash with Rivers United.
The club has also been instructed to identify the player seen assaulting a Rivers United player in footage from the match by Thursday, October 1.
The sanctions were contained in the NPFL’s Summary Jurisdiction decisions signed by Chief Operating Officer, Dr. Ayo Abdulrahman, on September 29.
Ranchers Bees were found to have breached Rules B13.52, C1.1 and C9 of the NPFL Frameworks and Rules.
The club was fined N2 million after inadequate security allowed unauthorised individuals into restricted stadium areas.
A further N1 million penalty was imposed for failing to control players and bench officials who intimidated, threatened and harassed match officials.
Another N1 million fine followed alleged attempts by supporters to attack the officials.
The final N1 million sanction relates to the club’s failure to prevent match officials from being held hostage after the encounter.
Under Rule C26, Ranchers Bees must either accept the sanctions or request in writing that the case be heard by a Disciplinary Panel.
The club has 48 hours from receiving the notice to make its decision, while the fines must be paid within seven working days after the appeal period expires.
