Chelsea forward João Pedro has been crowned the Premier League Player of the Month for August 2026 after a superb opening to the new season.
The Brazilian earns the monthly prize for the first time, becoming the first Chelsea player to receive the award since Cole Palmer in September 2024.
Chelsea confirmed on Friday that Pedro finished ahead of Palmer and six other nominees after winning the public vote.
Pedro made an immediate impact in the 2026/27 campaign, registering four goal contributions in Chelsea’s first two league matches as the Blues secured back-to-back victories.
He scored just 33 seconds into the opener against Fulham before assisting Palmer’s winning goal.
Against Brighton & Hove Albion in Chelsea’s first home league game, Pedro scored again and provided another assist for Palmer to complete the victory.
His tally of two goals and two assists earned him strong backing from supporters worldwide and secured the monthly honour.
Pedro received the award at Chelsea’s Cobham training ground, marking another major milestone in his impressive start to life at the club.
