Lagos socialite Afolabi Kazeem, popularly known as KC Luxury, has taken legal action against the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) over his arrest and continued detention.
Kazeem is seeking ₦190 million in damages from the anti-drug agency and has also asked the Federal High Court to grant him bail while the legal challenge is considered.
The suit follows his arrest by NDLEA operatives at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on August 13, 2026.
The agency had said Kazeem was arrested while preparing to travel to Paris.
His arrest came after NDLEA operatives seized 184.5kg of cocaine from a courier company in Lagos.
NDLEA Chairman Brigadier General Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd.) subsequently alleged that Kazeem was attempting to leave the country on a business-class flight to Paris when he was taken into custody.
“This cartel leader did not walk into our custody voluntarily; he intended to flee the country on a business-class flight to Paris,” Marwa said.
Kazeem is now challenging his continued detention and is seeking financial compensation as part of his legal action against the agency.
The socialite’s application for bail will be considered by the Federal High Court, while the substantive claims contained in his suit remain subject to judicial determination.
The NDLEA has yet to publicly respond to the latest legal action as contained in the available report.
