Super Eagles Set for Four-Nation Showdown in Jordan Next Month

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has confirmed that the Super Eagles will headline a prestigious Four-Nation Invitational Tournament in Amman, Jordan, during the March 2026 FIFA international window. This mini-tournament brings together three-time African champions Nigeria, alongside World Cup-bound Iran, Costa Rica, and the host nation, Jordan. The fixtures offer a vital opportunity for coach Eric Chelle to refine his squad and test tactical combinations against diverse international opposition as Nigeria continues its rebuilding phase following the 2025 AFCON bronze-medal success.

Nigeria officially launches its campaign on Friday, March 27, with a high-profile opening match against Iran at the 17,000-capacity Amman International Stadium. Simultaneously, the tournament hosts will face Costa Rica at the expansive 62,000-capacity King Abdullah Sports City Stadium. These opening games set the stage for a dramatic second round of fixtures scheduled for Tuesday, March 31.

The Super Eagles will conclude their participation in the Middle East with a marquee clash against Jordan at the Amman International Stadium. During the same window, Costa Rica and Iran will battle for supremacy at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium. While the NFF has finalized the dates and venues, tournament organizers intend to reveal the specific kick-off times for all four matches in the coming days.

For Jordan and Iran, this invitational serves as a critical preparation platform ahead of their historic appearances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in North America. For Nigeria, the tournament provides a competitive environment to integrate emerging talents and improve their global FIFA ranking. Supporters expect a strong squad selection as the Super Eagles aim to secure the trophy and maintain their momentum on the international stage.
