Barcelona wonderkid Lamine Yamal has etched his name into the UEFA Champions League history books following the club’s dramatic 2-1 comeback victory over Eintracht Frankfurt on Tuesday night.
The teenage sensation provided the assist for Jules Kounde’s goal, taking his total goal contributions in the competition to a new landmark. With that assist, Yamal now holds the record for the most goal involvements by any player aged 18 or younger in the Champions League, surpassing the previous benchmark set by Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappé.
Barcelona were forced to battle back after falling behind in the first half at the Spotify Nou Camp, where Ansgar Knauff had given the Bundesliga side a surprise lead.
However, the Catalan giants turned the game around in the second half, with Jules Kounde scoring twice to seal all three points. Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford and Yamal were both instrumental in the comeback, providing key assists as Barcelona secured a crucial European win.
