Media personality and entrepreneur May Edochie has revealed how she first met her estranged husband, popular Nollywood actor Yul Edochie, years before fame and marriage entered their lives.
Speaking on a recent lifestyle podcast, May shared that their paths crossed during her early university days, not at a glamorous event or social gathering, but at a General Certificate Examination (GCE) centre.
According to her, she had just moved from Lagos to pursue a degree at Enugu State University, while Yul was a student at the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) at the time.
“Way back in school when I went to the East for my university, I’m a bookworm. It’s always been about books for me,” she said. “We didn’t meet at a party or any glamorous setting; we met at a GCE centre.”
May described herself as a studious and focused young woman during that period, highlighting how her love for academics shaped much of her early life.
Her revelation offers a rare glimpse into the couple’s beginnings, which date back long before their relationship became a subject of public interest.
