Tacha Calls Out Content Creators Over Constant Criticism of Lagos

The former BBNaija star accuses influencers of hypocrisy, urging them to showcase their own states instead of targeting Lagos.

Reality TV star and media personality, Tacha, has taken a swipe at Nigerian content creators for what she described as their constant fixation on criticising Lagos State.

The former Big Brother Naija housemate accused online creators of hypocrisy, saying they make it appear as though Lagos is the only state in the country worth scrutinising.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Tacha challenged them to highlight highbrow areas in their own states instead of singling out Lagos.

“All these content creators! Everyday Lagos state Lagos state! One will think ‘Lagos state’ is the only state in Nigeria. Oyah post ‘highbrow’ area in your own state and you’ll be nowhere to be found. Doubt you even know who your local govt chairman is,” she wrote while reacting to a viral video that criticised poor drainage in an upscale part of Lagos.

Her remarks come amid ongoing online debates over Lagos’ environmental challenges. Recently, NYSC member Ushie Uguamaye (aka Raye), influencer Scott Iguma, and comedian Acapella stirred controversy after claiming Lagos “smells.”

In response to the growing criticism, Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, dismissed the claims, insisting that some individuals are deliberately attempting to tarnish the state’s image.

Tacha’s comments have since reignited conversations on whether Lagos is unfairly singled out by content creators, or if the state’s issues deserve the attention they receive.
