Asisat Oshoala Set to Join Al-Hilal After Passing Medical in Riyadh

Super Falcons striker Asisat Oshoala is on the verge of completing a move to the Saudi Arabia Professional Women’s Football League with Al-Hilal.

The 30-year-old forward is switching from the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), where she has been playing for Bay FC. According to The Athletic, Oshoala arrived in Riyadh on Monday and successfully underwent her medical tests.

Oshoala only joined Bay FC in February 2024 after leaving Barcelona Femeni, where she enjoyed a highly successful spell. She played her final game for the American side last weekend, featuring in a 3-2 home defeat to Washington Spirit.

By joining Al-Hilal, the six-time African Women’s Footballer of the Year becomes part of a growing Nigerian presence in the Saudi women’s league, which already includes Ashleigh Plumptre, Francisca Ordega, Rita Chikwelu, and Chinonyerem Macleans.
