Chelsea have officially submitted a written offer to Barcelona for midfielder Fermin López, as the Premier League club pushes to secure his signature before the summer transfer window closes.
The Blues remain determined to bring the Spanish talent to Stamford Bridge and followed up their 2-0 win over Fulham by submitting an initial bid valued at €40 million on Saturday afternoon. Chelsea are now awaiting a response from the La Liga side regarding their proposal.
Despite Chelsea’s strong interest, López has been advised to remain at Barcelona. Former Barça official Jordi Roura has publicly urged the 21-year-old not to make the switch to England.
