JAMB Sets October 31 Deadline for Public Universities to Complete 2025 Admissions

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has directed all Nigerian public universities to finalise their 2025 admission processes by October 31, 2025.

According to a schedule issued by JAMB on Monday, private universities have until November 30, 2025 to complete admissions, while all other tertiary institutions public or private must wrap up by December 31, 2025.

This directive follows the timeline approved at the 2025 Policy Meeting chaired by the Minister of Education, aiming to stabilise the academic calendar and promote fair access to admission slots across all Nigerian tertiary institutions.

“Following the policy meeting, all institutions are expected to conclude their admissions within the specified deadlines,” the board said in its weekly bulletin.

JAMB also urged universities to finalise admissions well before the deadlines, even if the academic session has not yet commenced.

“Institutions should conduct and archive their admission exercises regardless of their academic calendar status,” the board emphasized.

Additionally, universities conducting post-UTME screenings are required to complete these processes promptly to ensure full compliance with the 2025 admissions schedule.

“Post-UTME exercises must be concluded in good time to meet the overall admissions deadlines,” JAMB stated.

This move aims to streamline admission procedures and avoid prolonged delays, ultimately enhancing the academic progression of students nationwide.
