Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) assistant coach, Akin Olowokere, tragically passed away on Monday morning after collapsing during a training session.
Olowokere, who had only recently joined the 3SC coaching staff, reportedly slumped while on duty with the team, prompting an immediate medical response.
The incident occurred at the Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu Ode, where the club was preparing for Matchday 2 of the 2025 ValueJet Cup. Despite being rushed to a nearby hospital, efforts to revive him proved unsuccessful.
A former player and coach of Sunshine Stars, Olowokere was one of the new appointments brought in by the Oluyole Warriors following the departure of the Gbenga Ogunbote-led technical crew.
His sudden passing has left the Nigerian football community in mourning, particularly within the ranks of 3SC, where he had only just begun contributing to the team’s new chapter.
