Renowned filmmaker Kunle Afolayan has commended Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde for fulfilling his promise to reconstruct the 23-kilometre Okaka–Igbojaye–KAP Village Road in Itesiwaju Local Government Area.

Renowned filmmaker Kunle Afolayan has commended Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde for fulfilling his promise to reconstruct the 23-kilometre Okaka–Igbojaye–KAP Village Road in Itesiwaju Local Government Area.

In a post shared on Instagram, Afolayan described the newly rebuilt road as a “corridor of possibility,” noting that it connects and empowers multiple communities—Okaka, Otu, Igbojaye, Komu—and supports the growing creative ecosystem surrounding the KAP Film Village and Resort.

The award-winning filmmaker said the road will significantly ease the movement of goods and services, improve access to education, and boost both agricultural and creative enterprise in the region.

Since its launch in April 2025, the KAP Film Village has hosted major film productions including Netflix’s Aníkúlápó and Ijogbon. Afolayan noted that the improved infrastructure will now allow the resort to attract more local and international productions, artist residencies, and educational programs.

He praised Governor Makinde’s strategy of combining infrastructure development with cultural investment, calling it a “strategic masterstroke” as Nigeria aims to diversify its economy through film, tourism, and the arts.

The KAP Group also extended its gratitude to the governor for what it called a visionary contribution to Oyo State’s development.
