Asue Ighodalo Still in PDP, Campaign Team Debunks Defection Rumour

Team Asue Media Organization (TAMO) has firmly dismissed rumours that Asue Ighodalo, the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, has defected from the party.

In a statement released on Monday and signed by TAMO’s spokesperson, Erhabor Emokpae, the organisation described the viral video suggesting Ighodalo’s defection as false, misleading, and a deliberate act of political mischief.

“The attention of Team Asue Media Organization (TAMO) has been drawn to a video circulating online alleging that Dr. Asue Ighodalo has left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),” the statement reads.

“This claim is false. Ighodalo remains a member of the PDP. We urge the public to disregard this baseless fabrication and the mischief behind it, which is aimed at misleading our supporters ahead of the National Assembly by-elections scheduled for later this month.”

TAMO reiterated that Ighodalo remains fully committed to the PDP and focused on his campaign agenda, which centers on economic prosperity, security, and development for Edo State.

“ Ighodalo remains focused on his vision for a prosperous and safe Edo, and on strengthening the PDP as a platform that truly protects the interests of the people,” the group added.

This clarification comes amid a growing wave of misinformation in the build-up to the National Assembly by-elections, as political tensions intensify in the state.

Supporters and the general public have been urged to verify information through official campaign channels to avoid falling prey to propaganda.
