Buhari to be buried Tuesday, says Katsina gov

Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, has announced that the late former President Muhammadu Buhari will be laid to rest in his hometown, Daura, located in Daura Local Government Area of the state, on Tuesday.

Speaking to journalists on Monday at the Katsina Government House, Governor Radda provided details of the funeral arrangements following the former leader’s death.

“The burial arrangement for our father, the late president, who passed away yesterday in a hospital in London, has been finalized after consultations with his family and close associates in London. The body will arrive in Katsina by 12 noon tomorrow, and the burial is scheduled for 2 p.m. in Daura,” the governor disclosed.

He extended condolences on behalf of himself, the people, and the government of Katsina State to the late president’s family, the people of Nigeria, and particularly to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu over the loss of his predecessor.

In the wake of the sad development, President Tinubu directed Vice President Kashim Shettima and his Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, to accompany the remains of the former president back to Nigeria.
